Wood Construction
Wood Construction

Molded wood is usually valued for their looks, and is, in fact, is usually much more expensive due to this fact. This is the first and the side of the alternatives paneling. In addition to the high cost, wood siding requires regular care and routine maintenance. The wood should be treated and painted regularly to avoid common problems with wood. One of the most obvious concerns associated with wood siding is termite. Termites can eat wood siding and cause significant damage to your home and your pocket. In addition, wood is susceptible to mold, caused by moisture that can soak the wood if it is adequately protected.

The Advantages of Fiber Cement Siding

While fiber cement siding is often more expensive than vinyl, which is much less expensive than other alternatives, natural wood siding. Slate is available in a wide variety of colors and styles, such as horizontal, vertical, and shingle-style siding. The coating can be found with different patterns and, like the grain of the wood or stucco, and is offered as weaving material as well.

Slate tends to be more versatile than vinyl or wood alternatives, because of its durability. Slate is mar-resistant, and mincing, or cracking not as common as it is with vinyl siding. The wooden boards fiber cement is significantly thicker than ordinary vinyl siding, which gives you more endurance to damage caused by strong winds or objects.

Unlike vinyl and wood alternatives, fiber cement siding is resistant to flame. It is combustible and approved for fire-rated construction.

Slate is naturally resistant to fungi, mold and termites, so no routine maintenance required to avoid these problems, with wood paneling.

Although fiber cement siding is available in a wide range of colors, but also can be painted any color you choose, should you ever feel in the mood for change. It will remain color painting. This can be achieved with vinyl siding, and paint to peel and crack in a relatively short period of time.

Unlike vinyl and alternatives wood siding, fiber cement is more resistant to contraction and expansion due to changes in temperature and climate. Vinyl siding can be deformed or bow and arrow in time, caused by moisture. For this reason, fiber cement siding can be seen as a smarter alternative, especially in climatic zones extreme.

Slate was promoted to outlast both vinyl or wood siding, and is often offered with a guarantee of 50 years. Many of vinyl and wood manufacturers and suppliers to offer a "lifetimeÂ" warranty with their products, but a "lifetimeÂ" is often open to interpretation and details of these guarantees must be thoroughly examined.

As with any coating material, ability and experience of the installers is crucial to the final product performance and fiber cement siding should always be installed by a capable professional, experienced specialist.

Does anyone know what the black stuff growing on the wood (frame construction) is it?

I am building a house and I noticed that there are more and more black stuff sporadically throughout the wood framing in the house. It is increasingly common. What's this? Is mold harmful if allergic to mold /? How do I clean or remove the wood? Done my contractor the use of wood-standards? Is this common in the construction of the house? I will not put up the sheet rock and walls until I understand what it is. My contractor told me not to worry, but I fear he is hiding something.

I would like some think it is a certain type of mold, I certainly would not want inside my walls. I've never seen in another home Under Construction, and I saw some number, as I used to work for a building inspector in Texas. I would not necessarily entrepreneurs word that "everything is ok." It has nothing to gain by telling you, and everything to lose from having to replace the 2x4. Talk with someone who sells wood in your area - someone preferably in a Lumber Yard that has been there for some time - and ask what, if any, treatment of wood is commonly used in your region. I suspect that if it is normally wet in your area, something should be used, or wood must have been pre-treated.
