Car Parts

It is not uncommon for car owners to pass along several years, almost as much money on repairs of vehicles and spending on car purchase real. Self service is notoriously expensive in many parts of the country and can be debilitating to a budget if it comes at an inopportune time. Knowing a little about the service industry cars and car repair is sometimes so expensive can help you avoid overpaying for car service.
Work
When you pay for car repairs or a spare car, many times what you are paying is mostly labor. The parts needed for the job can be quite cheap, but the time needed to complete the work that you're being charged for. One key to saving some money on labor costs is simply to shop around. Not all shops charge the same car for work. In fact, labor costs are very different from store to store. There are some who will charge you $ 80/hr or more major repairs, but if you look around, you might find others that charge $ 60/hr or less.
Another thing to consider is that if your car decomposes on the road and take him to a nearby store, on the road, can be almost certain that the labor costs will be too expensive. This is for the same reason that a glass of beer at a ball game will be expensive: you're paying for convenience.
Parts
If you buy your parts directly the store will probably be marked up for profit. Some auto shops to raise the price of car parts up to 30% or more above MSRP (suggested price retail). In addition, the cars, some vehicles, especially older or vintage, require parts that are harder to find, or are no longer manufactured and must be purchased on special order from the manufacturer.
Now, if you want to save money on parts, could be a good idea to ask your mechanic, after an assessment of the car was completed, to tell what parts are needed for the job. So for these pieces online for a discount and have your mechanic install instead of the store.

Are Daihatsu car parts difficult and expensive to find in Australia, now they have stopped selling new cars?
Since Daihatsu has now merged with Toyota and Daihatsu new cars are no longer sold in Australia, this means finding spare parts is more difficult and also more expensive? I ask because I am currently looking to buy my first car and saw a Daihatsu which really pleases me, but I am concerned by repair costs, etc. Would it not advisable to buy or should I just stick to buying something more common like a Toyota?
stick with Toyota, they are simply the best parts of Daihatsu are always available, but it means that you will be looking much harder to find in Australia using may be the Internet or Wreckers will better help you
