Station Building
Amtrak has very limited service to Houston, which is probably why the station looks so bad. The Sunset Limited (New Orleans to Los Angeles) stops in Houston going westbound at 9:13pm on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, and at 5:45 going eastbound on Tuesday, Friday and Sunday. There is also a bus connection, as has been pointed out, to the Texas Eagle, which goes from Chicago to Los Angeles.
Texas as a whole hasn't invested much in their train service, maybe because of the large distances involved, or maybe due to their love of automobiles.
The state of the station owes more to the city than to Amtrak. Many cities have invested in fixing up their train stations, much as they have invested in building decent airports. Others haven't. Given the limited amount of train service to Texas, I guess that Houston doesn't feel motivated to invest.

Right Manual
It's an F/ Body, 1996, Z28 (6 Speed Manual)... [[V8 280 hp stock]]
I have the 95 Z28, and here was my initial recipe:
Underdrive pulleys; Moroso CAI - be sure to plate off the opening in the front drivers side to completely isolate the filter for the best effect; Skip shift eliminator - look it up - it'll remove the annoying 1st to 4th slow-speed shift; Hypertech airfoil and gently polished throttle body; Reprogram on the pc; BBK headers; 3" high flow cat; Borla 3" cat back (mind you, this is for a single-pipe car; You Can get by with twin 2 1/2's if they're mandrel bent).
In its current state (with a few more secrets added including suspension and tire upgrade), I'm just breaking 5 flat 0-60.
Next stage is either a Squier rear mount turbo or an LT4 conversion (Edelbrock now makes a good quality kit) But that's where the real money starts getting spent, since the rear end now has to be fortified.

Operating Log
I have an old cell phone and need to upgrade with my Verizon service. I was ready to get the Blackberry Storm, but in order to log in to my work system from remote access I need to have internet explorer which is not included in the Storm. So I need to have Windows Mobile 5 or 6 operating system but I still want to get a phone that has as many bells and whistles as possible. Any other suggestions would be helpful.
A lot of people at my work use the Palm Treo 700, but my taste runs more along the Samsung Saga. The Treo is Windows 5, while the Saga is Windows 6.1 Pro.
Not sure if Verizon has a WM 6 Treo, but you're better off with a WM 6.1 phone, than a 5.0 or 6.0 phone.
WM6.1 Pro has all the goodies included, and the price is reasonable for a WM phone.
